How to identify Blue aloe (Aloe brevifolia)
Blue aloe is a succulent that forms tight rosettes up to 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide. It has broadly triangular, thick, pale gray leaves with prominent white spines along the edges. Each rosette can form a clump reaching about 1 foot (30 cm) in height. In late spring, blue aloe produces unbranched spikes of orange, tubular flowers, extending 16 to 24 inches (40 to 60 cm) above the foliage. It is a drought-tolerant plant, suitable for full sun and well-drained soil conditions.
