Interesting Facts
This cactus doesn't have a common Western name. The Latin name of the genus comes from Greek 'echinus', meaning 'hedgehog' or 'sea urchin' - both spiny animals. It reflects the dense cover of spines characteristic of the entire genus. The epithet 'Tubiflora' describes the tubular shape of the species' flower. Echinopsis tubiflora is endemic to Argentina, meaning it can be found only there and nowhere else in the world (at least in the wild). It is an attractive large cactus with flowers reaching the length of up to 24 cm.

Water: Easter Lily Cactus, adapted to arid environments, thrives with minimal moisture and high drought tolerance. It prefers well-draining soil and should be watered sparingly, ideally every three weeks, to prevent root rot. Its blooming cycle indicates hydration levels, making it ideal for xeriscaping.
Fertilize: To enhance easter Lily Cactus's growth, apply a balanced fertilizer monthly during spring and summer, using quarter-strength doses to prevent nutrient buildup. Discontinue fertilization in winter during dormancy. Wearing gloves is advised when handling fertilizer to avoid skin irritation, ensuring easter Lily Cactus thrives and blooms effectively.
Pruning: Easter Lily Cactus requires minimal pruning. To promote healthy growth, remove withered flowers and branches, allowing the plant to focus its nutrients on stronger parts.
Propagation: Easter Lily Cactus is easily propagated via cuttings from healthy parent plants. Allow cut ends to callous before planting in well-draining soil. Provide consistent warmth and avoid excess moisture to prevent rot. Successful propagation is indicated by new growth.
Repotting: Repot easter Lily Cactus every 2-3 years in spring using a slightly larger pot. This helps prevent overwatering. After repotting, provide well-draining soil and minimal watering to reduce stress while the cactus acclimates to its new container.
