How do I get rid of common groundsel?
The best way to control common groundsel is to remove it before flowering. Its seeds are not longevous and usually last only a year, so removing it before it produces seeds can be a very effective way to get rid of this plant in your garden. This is easily done by hand or by cutting or mowing the plants close to the ground. Mulching can also prevent the seeds from sprouting, as the seedlings cannot push through the mulch layer, and if the surface is dry, seeds that blow over cannot germinate in the mulch. Although glyphosate can be used to control common groundsel in crops, physical methods are a safer alternative in terms of both environmental and health effects.
