Name Story
Orange jasmine||Mock orange||Mock lime||Chinese box: Murraya paniculata produces fragrant white flowers which have a citrus-like scent similar to orange or lime, hence its common names of Orange jasmine, Mock orange, or Mock Lime. Many fragrant flowers often carry the name after jasmine, one of the most famous fragrant flowers. Like many plants of the Buxus genus, Murraya paniculata has been widely used as a garden hedge, while its wood has been used for making tool handles, so that explains why it's called orange jasmine.

Soil Type
Water: Orange jasmine originates from tropical regions, thriving in high humidity and consistent moisture. It is drought-tolerant but prefers well-drained, moist soil. Watering should be moderate, approximately every two weeks, with enhanced growth during rainy seasons. Typically, orange jasmine is grown outdoors in warm climates.
Fertilize: For orange jasmine, apply high nitrogen fertilizers monthly in spring and summer, and bi-monthly in fall and winter. Use one tablespoon per plant, diluting to half-strength. Avoid over-fertilizing to prevent toxicity; water after application to enhance nutrient absorption and protect sensitive roots.
Pruning: The orange jasmine is fast-growing and easy to shape, requiring only light pruning once or twice a year to maintain its appearance. It’s important to remove dead or damaged branches and lightly prune after flowering to encourage better blooms for the following spring.
Propagation: Orange jasmine propagates best through cuttings in spring and summer, showing moderate difficulty. Indicators of success include new growth and root development, while adequate moisture and warmth can improve propagation outcomes.
Repotting: To promote bushy growth and fragrant blooms, gently upsize orange jasmine every 2-3 years, preferably in spring. Use a slightly larger pot with good drainage, maintain consistent watering, and provide bright, indirect light for optimal recovery and vibrancy.
