Is the narrowleaf yucca poisonous?
As an ornamental plant, narrowleaf yucca does not look edible, especially with those thick sword-like leaves. However, narrowleaf yucca contains toxins saponins that are toxic to humans and animals, while in the roots mainly, toxins are hard to get into touch with. As long as not being sensitive or allergic to the toxins, hardly any cases of narrowleaf yucca poisoning are reported. Of course, it can be very dangerous as narrowleaf yucca leaves are so sharp spikes that can easily stab and harm animals coming close. So, although the toxicity is mild, do not get close to narrowleaf yucca.
